Sari Pass TrekBir to Kullu Departures: Take a jeep to the Tibetan Village of Bir and in the foothills of the Himalayas through local villages as you head towards Kullu. During the trek you will visit picturesque villages of the local Gaddi people as you pass deeper into the higher reaches of the Dhauladhur Range which forms part of the Himalayas. This trek finishes in the town of Kullu, 6 hours from McLeod Ganj. Travel back to McLeod Ganj. Day 1: McLeod Ganj. Check into Hunted Hill House. Visit the Temple of His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Namgyel Monastery and Tibet Museum. Afternoon with guide and porters for your trek.
Overnight McLeod Ganj Day 2 - 7: By Car travel from McLeodganj 1780 metres to Bir, 30 Kms, Walk from Bir to Billing, 8 Kms, to stay the night at Billing. Camp at Billing, has great views and is a large ground used for paragliding, etc. Overnight camp at Kareri Village Forest Rest House. Day 3: Trek from Billing 2900 metres to Meyot Village (2100 metres). Camp overnight on the banks of the River Uhl, 9 Kms of this walk is level. Day 4: Trek from Meyot Village to Loharadi Village at 2400 metres. Camp at Loharadi, we pass through Barot, a trout fish farm and water reservoir. Day 5: Trek from Loharadi Village 2400 metres to Lahes at 3000 metres. Camp at Lages, the base of the Sari Pass. Day 6: Trek from Lahes to Samalag Village at 2900m metres. We cross the pass and camp, we gain 800m to cross the pass and lose 100 after that. Day 7: Trek from Samalag Village to Kullu at 1700 metres. By mid afternoon we can catch a bus from Kullu back to McLeod Ganj. Day 8: McLeod Ganj Half day sightseeing – walk to the local villages of Bhagsu, Dharamkot and taxi to Naddi.
