Day 1: Delhi sightseeing. Transfer from International / Domestic Airport to hotel in Delhi. In New Delhi we visit India Gate, Rajpath, the Secretariat Buildings and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum. In Old Delhi visit Humayun's Tomb, the Red Fort and the spice market.
Overnight 2nd class A/C train to McLeod Ganj
Day 2: Sightseeing McLeod Ganj. Orientation walking tour of McLeod Ganj. Visit the Temple of His Holiness The Dalai Lama as well as the Namgyal Monastery and Tibet Museum.

Day 3: Sightseeing around Dharamsala. Visit Thosamling Nunnery, Norblingka and Nistha. The rest of the afternoon is free for shopping in Dharamsala.

Day 4: Sightseeing around Dharamsala. Visit Tashi Jong and the Dongyu Gatsal Ling nunnery at Palumpur. Travel to Bir to visit local monasteries, including the Sherab Ling Monastery, before returning to Dharamsala.

Day 5: Local sightseeing around McLeod Ganj. Full day of sightseeing that includes trips to local villages such as Naddi and Bhagsu.

Day 6: Travel to Amritsar. Depart McLeod Ganj to travel to Amritsar by car. Arrive in Amritsar and check into the CJ International Hotel. Take taxi at 4.00pm to Wagah, which is located at the border between India and Pakistan, to witness the ‘Closing of the Border’. This ceremony takes place every evening and involves a display of pomp and ceremony by the Indian and Pakistani soldiers. On arriving back in Amritsar take a moonlight stroll around the Golden Temple.

Day 7: Amritsar sightseeing. Early morning walk to the Golden Temple to visit the inside of the temple to listen to the priests chanting from the Holy Book. Visit the Jallianwala Bagh, the place of the British massacre in 1919. It is a peaceful garden today that you can stroll around and enjoy. This is followed by a visit to the Katra Jaimal Singh Bazaar, famous for its textiles and saris. Afternoon train back to Delhi. Tour arrangements end upon arrival in Delhi.
