Grand Tour of Rajasthan

DelhiDay 1: Arrival in Delhi. Transfer from International/ Domestic Airport to your hotel in Delhi. After a rest you will tour the sights of Old and New Delhi by private car. The tour begins with India Gate before moving on to the mausoleum of Emperor Humayun, the Lakshmi Narayan Hindu temple, the Jama Masjid and the shopping and entertainment hub of Connaught Place.

Day 2: Agra sightseeing. Drive to Agra by private car. Check in the hotel before visiting the famous Agra Fort.

RathambhoreDay 3: Ranthambhore National Park. After witnessing sunrise at the magnificent Taj Mahal, return to the hotel. Have your breakfast and leave for the famous wild life sanctuary at Ranthambhore. You have very good chance of catching a glimpse of a tiger!

Day 4: Ranthambhore National Park. Morning and afternoon jungle excursions inside the national park.

Day 5: Depart for Jaipur. Drive to Jaipur by private car.

Day 6: Jaipur Sightseeing. Today you will tour the sights in and around Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’. Visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), the palaces and fortress of Amber, the Jaipur City Palace, the Jantar Mantar and the Johari Jewellery bazaar.

Day 7: Jaipur to Pushkar. Morning drive to Pushkar by private car. Check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the many temples and bazaars surrounding the sacred Pushkar Lake.

PushkarDay 8: Pushkar to Udaipur. Drive to Udaipur, stopping en-route to visit the Chittaurgarh Fort.

Day 9: Udaipur sightseeing. Tour the sights of Udaipur, which is known as the 'Venice of the East'. This beautiful city, built around the shores of Lake Pichola, is full of temples, palaces and havelis (ornately decorated traditional homes). Visiting the exquisite Lake Palace on Jagwins Island is an unforgettable experience. You will also visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the Folk Museum, a miniature painting workshop and the massive City Palace.

Day 10: Ranakpur Sightseeing. Depart for Ranakpur and visit the Kumbalagarh Fort.

JodhpurDay 11: Jodhpur Sightseeing. Drive to Jodhpur traveling into the surrounding countryside. There is the option of visiting the Bishnoi Villagers (protectors of trees and animals) and the Meghwa people (weavers and potters). Arrive in Jodhpur and visit the grand Meherangarh Fort.

Day 12: Drive to Jaisalmer. Travel to Jaisalmer which is an ancient caravan-trading town that resembles a scene from ‘a thousand and one nights’. The afternoon is free for you to relax in the hotel or to explore the town.

Day 13 - 14: Camel Trek. We head off in the early morning, traveling by jeep into the Thar Desert, stopping off along the way at an ancient Maharaja royal cemetery and a Jain temple. At the village of Chatrel, we round up our camels and begin our trek. In the evening we camp amongst the sand dunes and enjoy traditional Rajasthani food and music. The next morning we will continue our trek before returning to Jaisalmer in the late afternoon.

Bikaner
Day 15: Bikaner Sightseeing. In the morning we will drive to Bikaner by private car. We will explore this marvelous fortress city and visit the Karni Mata Temple, where thousands of holy rats are worshipped.

Day 16: Mandawa village sightseeing. Drive to this small heritage village famous for its hand made furniture and beautiful paintings. The afternoon is free to explore the village at your leisure.

Day 17: Depart for Delhi. Travel back to Delhi by private car. Tour arrangements end upon arrival at the hotel in Delhi.
