Tibetan Thangka Painting

Tibetan Thangka Painting techniques and principles of the sacred art of Tibetan scroll painting.Thangka (a Tibetan word meaning "silk, satin or cloth painting scroll"). A thangka is a complicated, composite three-dimensional object consisting of a picture panel which is painted. The content of most thangkas are mainly the images of Buddha, or represents the life stories of eminent monks and folk customs. The painting methods use mainly bright colors and line drawing.


Course Overview
Learn the basic techniques of thangka painting. In the beginners course you will learn basic lines, proportions, background scenes, wet and dry shadings, making a canvas, colours of White & Green Tara, Buddha and Chenregiz.
